In June, the U.S. Supreme Court decided in the case of South Dakota v. Wayfair, Overstock, and Newegg to redefine sales tax nexus. The decision enables states with economic nexus laws to enforce collection by remote retailers. At this point in time, we are required by law to collect sales tax in the following states:
Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraksa, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
Notice of Sales/Use Tax Liability:
If you are shipping to other states not in the above list and we do not collect sales tax, sales tax may still be due to your state and you may be required to file use tax annually. For residents of GA and RI we are required to report all transactions to your state taxing authority at the end of each calendar year.
